Avatar: When a film touches hearts, its sequel becomes not just a release, but an experience. James Cameron’s much-awaited film ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is allowing us to relive this experience again. This film will not only bring the beautiful and mysterious world of Pandora to the fore, but it also includes a new and very powerful villain, Varang.

This time in ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’, the story takes us to that part of Pandora which was not seen by the audience till now – an area surrounded by volcanoes, full of ash and fire. Ash People live here, who are known as the Mangkwan clan. They are led by Varang a combative, determined and complex character, who has tested herself to protect her people.

The power of Varang was seen at first glimpse

The first poster of the film was released recently, in which Varang is shown in a strong red and black headdress. She is seen with a flamethrower on the land of burning lava, which shows the seriousness and power of this new chapter. This first glimpse itself makes one realise that this time the story of Pandora will be full of emotions, confrontation and internal conflicts.

Avatar Emotional and mental conflict is shown in the trailer

The trailer of this film will be shown in theatres on 25 July 2025 with ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’. But before that, this trailer has been shown to a select audience in the Disney offices of Los Angeles and New York. According to reports, an emotional and serious moment comes in the trailer when Varang takes Jake and Neytiri’s daughter Kiri hostage and says, “Your goddess has no right here.” This dialogue indicates that now the conflict can happen not only between humans and Na’vi, but also within the Na’vi community.

Varang is an antagonist who is not just bad

Director James Cameron said in one of his interviews, “Varang is the leader of a people who have suffered a very difficult time. She has become tough because of this.” He further said, “She can do anything for her people, even what seems wrong or bad to us.” It is clear from this that Varang is a character that the audience will not only hate, but will also feel understanding and sympathy.

Cameron does not want to show only the boundaries of good and evil through this film, but he wants the audience to understand the background of each character. He says, “We are no longer showing the old thinking that all humans are bad and all Na’vi are good. Everything is not that simple in this film.”
