PM-KISAN: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a big effort to make the lives of farmers easier and bring smiles on their faces. When the crop grows in the field, the hard work of the farmer pays off. But sometimes this hard work needs to be supported, and this scheme was born from this thought.
PM-KISAN: Direct help of ₹ 2,000 every four months
Under this initiative of the government, every year ₹ 6,000 is sent directly to the accounts of farmers, so that they can fulfill their farming needs. This amount is given in three equal installments ₹ 2,000 every four months. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), money comes directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, which eliminates the role of middlemen and the money reaches on time.
Previous installments and achievements so far
So far 19 installments have been released, in which crores of farmers have got relief. The last i.e. 19th installment was released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2025, benefiting about 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.4 crore women. Earlier, the 18th installment was given in October 2024 and the 17th installment in June 2024.
PM-KISAN: When will the 20th installment come
Now the eyes of the farmers are fixed on the 20th installment, which is expected in June 2025. Although the official date or place has not been announced by the government yet, it is likely that Prime Minister Modi will once again dedicate this installment to the farmers of the country.
The biggest strength of the scheme, transparency and trust
The most special thing about this scheme is that its scope is very wide. This scheme, which has become the world’s largest DBT scheme, still remains a strong economic support for crores of farmers in the country.
