She said that PM Modi has not only strengthened the Indian economy but has also established India as a global power by empowering more than 1 billion citizens.
Kamala Persad Bissessar further said that “Through your visionary and futuristic initiatives, you have modernised the Indian economy, empowered over a billion citizens and above all, you have instilled pride into the hearts of all Indians all over the world.” Her respectful speech further deepened the relationship between the two countries.
New chapter of India Trinidad relations
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that this visit is historic for India. He said that Trinidad and Tobago have a population of about 13 lakhs, out of which 45% people are of Indian origin. Most of these people are from Bhojpuri areas of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, like Chapra, Ara, Ballia, Banaras, Ghazipur, Siwan, and Azamgarh.
